About Access Homes

Access Homes in conjunction with Accessibility Online (www.accessibility.com.au) has been developing this idea over the last 12 months. It is very complementary to the community value created by Accessibility Online and its provision of mobility and rehabilitation products.

Access Homes is currently working with major residential developers to create accessible homes that can be easily modified to allow appropriate movement for people with mobility issues and seniors with ageing in place.

The people behind Access Homes have had extensive experience through their work with Morris Goding Accessibility Consulting for the planning, design and construction of residential developments including the prestige developments at:

  • Rhodes Waterside (Mirvac, Multiplex, Meriton)
  • Jacksons Landing, Pyrmont (Bovis Lend Lease)
  • Kings Street Wharf, Darling Harbour
  • Breakfast Point, Concord
  • Waterfront Apartments, Homebush Bay
  • Discovery Point Arncliffe (Australand)
  • Docklands Melbourne (Bovis Lend Lease)
  • Meriton Apartments across Sydney
  • Botanica Lidcombe (Australand)
  • Riverpoint Residential Brisbane

 Our Consultants

Our consultants have been trained to understand the nature of accessible units/homes and the ease of which can they be adapted, compared with general real estate consultants who do not have any specific knowledge in this area.

 Our History

Access Homes has been established by David Goding in 2008.

Its' parent site, Accessibility.com.au was established in May 1999 by David Goding and Nick Morris, two of Australia's leading access consultants. They recognised a need for an Australian resource that provided comprehensive and ready access to information on accessible venues, facilities, services, transport, mobility aids and news. It didn't take long for it to become the most visited disability information website in Australia.

In early 2006, Nick and David began collaborating with Kerrie Thomsen, a leading occupational therapist with expertise in independent living products. They wanted to expand the scope of accessibility.com.au, to create the premier health care information and accessible product resource for people with a disability, their families, carers and health professionals. They envisaged accessibility.com.au becoming the place that people could confidently go to find high quality information on access, a range of health topics and products for independent living.
